The Acrobat copies - Blower1 and Blower2

THe Magnolia Chapter of the A.T.O.S. has been compiling a KNOWLEDGE BASE on their web site. Currently there is a copy of a Spencer Orgablo Manual and an article on Hide Glue that might be of to the general members of the list. There are also specific Theatre Organ articles on the site.

List member, Jack Hardman, has put together a web page about the use of Variable Frequency Drives for running 3-phase blowers on single phase current. His page can be accessed here.

American Pipe Organ Scale Based on Halving at the 16th Step
from List Member Craig Williams

Craig writes:

"Here is an Excel spreadsheet (and a .pdf version) I made some years ago to calculate the diameters of pipes according to the "American pipe scale" (used by OSI). This is based on the concept that a pipe of scale 1 is one meter (39.37") in diameter and that the pipe diameter halves on the 17th pipe. This means each pipe is smaller than the previous by the 16th root of two. The formula relating the actual diameter to the scale number is:

dia = 39.37 * exp(-log(2) * (scale-1) /16)

where the diameter (always the inside diameter) is in inches."
