Hello to my fellow organ nuts.
My name is Kyle Irwin. My friends and family think I've gone off the deep end. I was hired by my first church when I turned 8 years old. I'm now 40. I've been playing ever since. My first home organ was a Magnus Chord organ. Remember those? They now sell on eBay as antiques. (ouch)
My collection has grown. I now have eleven, yes, I said eleven, organs and three pianos in my house. Three of them are pipe organs. I have a 6 rank Kilgen Petite Ensemble, a 3 rank Reproduco Player Pipe Organ, and a 9 rank Welte Philharmonic Player Pipe organ. The Welte is very historic. It was originally in the Barker Bros. Department Store in downtown Los Angeles. People came from all over the country to hear and see this organ and delight in it's music. It was also used as Welte's west coast demo instrument. Many Welte organs were sold to wealthy homeowners after seeing and hearing this particular installation.
I look forward to sharing experiences with all of you. I have pictures of all of them if any of you are interested. My delight is hearing somebody bragging about the size of their organ. My response, "Yes, but you only have one!" LOL
